Recall a post?

About 30 days ago, I upgraded my forum to 10.3
In this upgrade, it seems to have changed the settings for each group which allowed a Newbe to delete a Very Important thread. This thread was about 20 posts long with thousands of views. I immediately called all of my moderators and they all pleaded innocence in deleting the thread. I was baffled.

I checked all my groups and found that the upgrade I did changed the settings for all my groups that allowed delete and edit rights for all groups except guests.

I have edited the rights back to the original settings.

My questions are,

Can I determine which member deleted the thread?

Can I recover the thread?

OK - thanks for the info - That means that one of my moderators is not trusted.

Bruce - I have checked all of the settings for USERS and confirm your post that no user could have possibly deleted this very important post on my forum, which confirms I have a "leak" in my Moderator group.  Very Sad

There is not a way of determining this unless of course you have edited your includes/setup_options_inc.asp file to record who does what. On that file you can choose which actions are logged to a text file, and this would then show who is editing or deleting which posts/topics etc.

If the thread or topic posts were very important your best bet would have been to take regular database backups in future so if needs be, you could restore the database at any given time. However bear in mind that if you did a database restore any posts that you or others might have done after that period would also not exist!
