Webwiz version v8.05
Until recently we have had no problems uploading images or files but suddenly this error has been appearing.
Although friendly error messages are switched off I can't determine exactly where the problem lies.

The error message header points to: http://www.(our club URL)/forum/non_RTE_upload_images.asp?PB=Y

I inspected the log and can only find this as relevant

Can anyone shed some light on this? By the way I'm a complete noob when it comes to ASP so please be patient with me!!!!

This is a known issue with the forum that you are running which is some 7 years old now. You should upgrade to a newer version to fix the issue.

Is this a definative answer Bruce? I understand we have a lifetime upgrade so can upgrade to v10.* when we need.

Can you explain why this version has performed faultlessly until now?

7 years is a long time to recall why there is such an error in a version which is around 30 versions behind the current release, but as far as I recall it has something to do with either upload ID's or member ID's getting above 32,000.

You should upgrade your forum anyway, not just to fix this and other bugs, but also because later version fix security vulnerabilities to prevent your forum or website being hacked.

Bruce, upgrading is not an option at the moment.

I have been looking into this problem and so far haven't found a solution.

If you or anyone else has any ideas how I can correct this then please say how. I fear we may have to migrate to IPB if we don't get a resolution!

I think you may struggle finding someone still using a version as old as the one you are using as most users would have upgraded to a newer version within the last 7 years.

I would certainly recommend upgrading which is very simple to do as the latest version has an install/upgrade wizard that takes care of the database upgrade for you.

The latest version also has many 100's of new features over version 8 including:-

Chat Room
Topic Rating
Post Thanking
Points System
Multiple Ladder Groups
Spam Cleaner Tool
StopForumSpam - Checks with the StopForumSpam service to block known spammers from registering.
EU Cookie Directive Compliance – New EU Rules on the use of Cookies becomes law in the UK as of May 2012. Updates to Web Wiz Forums allow you to comply with these new laws.
DoS Protection
Dynamically created SEO friendly Meta Tags for Title, Description, and Keywords
Plus hundreds of other new features and improvements

Obviously if as you say upgrading is not an option, but moving to IPB is, then I wish you luck with IPB.
