I have a couple questions:

I help as a mod on a forum that runs wwf 10.15 and we need help:

I tried here to use the search function using the keywords "merge threads" and I had "One or more of the words used in your search criteria is below 3 characters" as an answer Big smile.

I would like to know if there is another method to merge 2 threads than moving all posts one by one from one to another. If the 2 threads are more than 150 posts long it can be a pain. I understand the conversations may appear nonsensical after the merge but there are cases where it does not matter.

Also a member has problem to access features in his profile; he can get to the level shown below in between the 2 lines of "=" signs; but when clicking on any link it times out and freezes the whole forum. The member can't change anything in his profile (signature etc...). The mods experience the same problem; admins too. Note that the same problem happened before the upgrade to 10.15.

Thank you for any help.

A post can be moved from one topic to another, but there is presently no tool to merge two topics together.

As to your question regrading the member who can not navigate the forum it sounds very odd and the only reason I can think this would happen is an issue with the members browser or with some Internet security software on their computer.

You should first ask them to use another browser and if that does not fix the issue try disabling or white listing your website in any Internet security software they are running.

thank you for the confirmation about merging threads; I thought indeed the demand would be so low there would be no tool to do it.

that member can't edit his profile but the mods and admins can't either; I can get into his profileand I experience the same problem with 4 different browsers (ff, chrome, ie, safari...); note that I can edit all other members' profiles without any problem.

for example the link "Admin and moderators functions" (link is http://domain_name/forum/register.asp?PF=XXXXX&M=A#admin) will return:

Active Server Pages error 'ASP 0113'

Script timed out

/forum/register.asp

The maximum amount of time for a script to execute was exceeded. You can change this limit by specifying a new value for the property Server.ScriptTimeout or by changing the value in the IIS administration tools.

All mods experience the same; I can go through with any other member's profile and the link is the same (only the "XXXXX" part of the link above changes).

That member has thousands of posts with valuable content and I am trying to get him past his frustration. Thank you so much for your quick answer above.

It sounds like their member may have something within their profile which is crashing the forum.

The only way to fix this maybe to edit their forum profile manually and remove what ever it is from in their profile causing this issue from the database.
