I have a forum that was started on 2008 and one of my members today has just asked me why they cannot see posts before 14 March 2012?

I have gone through the settings and cannot see an archive button that I have clicked and after checking the database they are all in there, can you point me to the setting that will allow people to see the older posts.

It could be the "Show topics since" drop down box in the forum.

Or it could be the forum is limited the number of threads displayed in your forum. Depending on your database time the forum will limit it to around 500 threads per forum.

Thanks for the reply, the Show Topics has Any date and it is displaying 336 topics.

Perhaps this is a limit of the Access DB?

Access does not support database paging which means that results are limited on the Access version to a maximum of 500 topics.

So if I upgrade the DB to SQLServer / MySQL the old posts should be back?

SQL Server 2005 and above and myDSQL do not have these limitations.

You would not be able to move from Access to mySQL as it uses a completely different schema for the database.

You can upsize the database from Access to SQL Server as the schema is very similar, but you would most likly need to correct parts of the database once you have upsized.
