    Posted: 27 February 2014 at 9:03pm
Hi,
I have a forum running web-wiz 6.28 version from 2001-2002.
I'm willing to upgrade the forum version to the last one released.
Is there any problem I should be aware of? Will all information and database saved?

Thank you.

Prior to Web Wiz Forums version 7 upgrading was a job of manually editing the database to add the new fields  and tables.

The information to do this has not been available for over 10 years now, and I think it would be a case of starting with a new fresh install or staying with the version you are using now.

Thank you for your answer. I've decided to take the step and install the newest version.
In this case, how is it possible to migrate all users info (with their dgree, number of stars and amount of messeges)? Moreover, the forum is running on Hebrew, can you tell me about a programmer who can handle this change in Israel? Is there any problem with Hebrew installation?

I would like to disccuss this by mail if possible -  mariam_mishel@hotmail.com
or may I get your mail.

There is a member import utility in the admin area that could import the members but not their passwords, messages, grouping.

Sorry have no experience of Hebrewso would be unable to tell you how and if you could have Web Wiz Forums working in Hebrew.

Yes, i understand that all their messages won't be saved, I meant for example a user which has 2000 messages written, or he is a platinum user, if those details about his profile will also be imported.

have you ever worked with an Israeli programmer or heard about a programmer who has any experience with the new versions of WebWiz?

The member import utility would only import the members username and password, it would not import posts.

I would not know any programmers in Israel.
