Check in the admin area that you have not disabled links for your member groups.

Only Internet Explorer has the feature built in to convert text typed as http:// in to a link automatically.

While you can copy and paste hyperlinks in other browsers if you are typing in the link you would need to highlight the text and then use the hyperlink tool Insert Hyperlink in the editor to convert the text in to a link.

If you are not using the mobile view you can turn it off in the admin area. Your forum will then display the same Classic View to all deceives.
