I recently contacted some people at a domain registration company. They recommended setting up a DNS server so i can use a name server. Does anyone know how to set up a DNS server on a w2k server edition pc or know any good tutorials that can help me?

They recommended you to set up your own DNS server? What kind of company is that? You would need to server (at least) running the DNS service. Both should be on a seperate connection as fail-safe. This would cost you a bunch and for most standard websited that is so not necessary. Sure if you have a site like microsoft.com it is no prob but I doubt you have that. Anyway if you really want to go that route, you should get yourself a book on DNS or Active Directory. It is a big subject. You can also take a company like networksolutions.com that offer virtual dns server...

or make use of any free DNS service.. many r around the net.. search on google
