Greetings,

Well...my forum crashed unexpectedly.
Since it was just a test run, and other thing shade changed
(like switching to a new name server)
I just deleted everything including the database,
and reinstalled everything, and had my hosts Tech. support,
reset the permissions on the database.

Well...it still didn't work.
Then he asked: " Are you closing connections
and do you have all objects set to nothing?"

I said DOH! I have no clue.

He then, closed all open connections and released all objects
and immediately I'm back into the form!

So....I had a look here: http://forums.webwiz.net/forum_posts.asp?TID=3430&KW=connections

...and boRg says the form software does close connections
so what am I missing here?

Does that include the databasefile?
How can I stop this from happeng again?

I'm up for any fix you can offer, including modifing files,
so please let me know what you think.

Thanks,

Steve

P.S. I love this forum software!!!

All objects used in Web Wiz Forums are released, database connections closed and set to nothing. If anyome can find even one that isn't please let me know, but it has been checked and double checked many, many times.

It could be another asp page, not part of the forum, or if you are using a 3rd party mod that is not closing database connections or releasing server objects.

On a shared web server, it can also be files on another web site not releasing objects that is coursing the problem.

Thanks boRg,

As I suspected, it's not a "forum" related problem.
I just updated to most recent, and will watch it for any problems.
Thanks again...and great work!

Steve
