I just upgraded my forum from 6.34 to 7.0. Every thing seems alright before I broadcast the address of the new forum.

I found when there are more than one user loged in the forum, this error will accur. That's why I did not meet the problem before every one comes! !  Where is the problem?

Another question is, how can I configure the forum so that people can edit their own posts but not others?

If you search for that error number, you will find there are 30 other posts in this forum about it. I would guess that the answer lies somewhere therein.

As for the second question, in the group permissions page, check the 'Edit posts' box.

Thanks very much!

I did as you said and have the first problem solved. The old database should be compacted and repaired before coversion!

For the second problem, I'm worring, if I give the permission of edit posts to the users, can they edit other people's post?

Glad to hear that .

It is safe to give users permission to edit posts, they can only edit other peoples posts if they have moderator permissions.
