Message text in SQL Server

I'm not very familiar with SQL Server yet, and I've only recently started using the SQL Server version instead of Access version. One question I have is that I've noticed that when I'm looking at records in tblThread with Enterprise Manager, some of the messages appear, and others only say <Long Text>. Everything appears fine on the site. It's just a database thing.  Anyone know why that is, and if there is a way to turn that off and just view the text?
