It is your antivirus/firewall/internet security program that adds it...

You mean the firewall etc of the person that adds the post ?

I see thanks, don't suppose anything can be done about it then except to tell people about it and get them to disable said programs.

Ain't too much of a problem, just checking that it wasn't something more serious.

Cheers,

Chris.

It is coursed by software runni9ng on the users machine, it seems that some add pop up software injects javascript into posts, the poroblem is that they keep changing the software so I have to write new code to try a remove it all the time.

OK mate, I was wondering if version 7 is any better at dealing with this, although it's only happened to one user so far. I've asked him what programs he's using in an attempt to narrow it down, do you know which are the culprits ?

I've got a firewall and antivirus running as most people have and there's no problem.

Cheers,

Chris.

Hi again!

Norton Internet Security 2003 is responsible for this code:

<script language="JavaScript">
<!--

function SymError()
{
  return true;
}

window.onerror = SymError;

//-->
</script>

It is the ad/pop up blocker function. This affects not only local pages. I don't know whether this 'feature' can be disabled without deactivating the firewall itself, can't find anything about it on symantec's hompage...

He's running Norton anti-virus and Zone Alert.

Seems the code also generates it's own e-mails too !

Chris.
