Phone number in registration

I've been using the WWF for almost a year now and it really has been great (flawless).  I was hoping someone could tell me how I can add a field in the registration to add a phone number when someone registers to my forum.  I am using my forum for my labor union where I work as an informative discussion area and when someone logs in, I am confirming them via phone BEFORE they gain access (for obvious reasons).  I am going to try this myself eventually but was hoping someone has already done this to give me ideas

Thanks for the help, I was thinking about changing one of the existing fields like you mentioned but seems I usually end up screwing something up.  I am fairly new to ASP but have been trying to learn it (with the help of some books).

Funny you mentioned ICQ.  I am in the process of trying to change that to PHONE NUMBER.  In my case, I need to call EACH member to be sure they are a member of my UNION against the list I haveBEFORE they can access the secure area.  As far as the membership, EVERYONE loves the forum but of course you will always have a few who think it's too difficult to register AND remember the login name and password they signed up with  hehehe
