In the Forum Configuration, there is an option for Active Users List with the description as folllows:

"Active Users List
Users of Access versions of the forum please note that for performance and other database issues that you DO NOT enable this item."

For Access users, What type of performance impact are we talking about here?  A lot?

Also, what other impacts could there be for the database, corruption?

Anyone out there using the Active Users list in practice (Access Database) - what kind of results have you had?

It all depends on the size of the board. When you have a lot of people visiting your forum there will be a lot of inserts and delets to the active users table and access has teh problem to not give up pages in tables till it's being compacted. That mean an busy fly-by-forum would grow quick. Most normal forums with an average workload should not experience too much of a problem...

I get loads of emails from poeple who get the same error message and it always turns out to be the active users database table becoming corrupted, especially on busy boards, more than 4 users at once with access, where acess can't cope with the constant update and so becomes corrupted.
