problem: cant view asp page

hi

im using ie6 and im running iis5 on win xp,

when i try to view an asp page i made , all that happens is that a dialog box appears and the only option i have is to download the page.

why is that ?

how are you referencing that page? Make sure that you use http://....
Also, in IIS make sure that scripts are enabled for that site/dir

i think my preferences are ok,

and i tried refering to the page using http://

but still the only option i have is to download the file

Got into Administrative Tools - IIS. Navigate to the page and right-click. select "Browse". Note the url in your browser address bar for the format you should use to view on your machine.

Lead me not into temptation... I know the short cut, follow me.

On ISS right click on your site, go to the home directory tab and make sure that on execute permissions you got scripts selected, then click the configure button at the right and make sure that .asp's executable path is c:\winnt\system32\asp.dll and under verbs you got GET, HEAD, POST, TRACE. and that Script Engine is checked.
