Protected WithEvents Label1 As System.Web.UI.WebControls.Label

It's in every page I know, but what exactly does the 'Protected' and the 'WithEvents' mean?

WithEvents means that it can handle events e.g. Label.Click Protected is self explanitory, it stops you from going Dim label1 as string etc.
