I'm trying to delete a record in a table from access 2000 and i'm getting:

The search key was not found in any record

Is there any way around this without deleting the table as it contains alot of data that needs keeping.

You don't say how you are trying to delete a record (DAO, Delete Query etc) but I assume that you are using something like findfirst / delete / findnext - If this is the case, check your deletion criteria (WHERE clause) and reverse to findlast / delete / findprevious

If you have access to the MDB, you could try simply opening table directly using MS Access, highlight row to be deleted and pull the trigger.

Hope this helps

Good for you!

For the record, there are many ways of deleting records in Acc2K and in fact many types of tables (external linked as well as internal) hence my question.

To assist others using this Forum for research, perhaps you could post how you resolved your problem

This error is often coursed by having a corrupted database, using the compact and repair tool in access often repairs the database.
