Hey again,

This time it's about servers. I'm about to sell some servers, and buy a real good quad processor HP server (with 4GB ram).

Anyway, the problem is connecting it to the internet. I'm looking for a provider which will do all the mail stuff, and send the web traffic to me. Plus, the domain name must be visible in the address bar, so no redirecting there.

Another thing, multiple domains are used, on a single IP, so that uses dynamic IP's. Look at the beautifull, all telling, superb, great, Visio 2003 Professional drawn image below:

Does anyone has some experience here? I'm about to set up quite a thing - looks quite simple though - and I've been having a lot of trouble before with some hosts.

This is fairly simple to set up, you need a provider that routes your IP and points the MX records to their mail server and all other request to your router from where you direct them using port forwarding. If you want some more specific help let me know.

What operating system are you using?

Does your router support nat?

(Do you have a static IP?)


This type of stuff is simple to set up, you dont need your ISP for anything.

Answer my questions above and we'll take it from there!

I'm using a Microsoft Small Business Server 2003 (Windows Server 2003)

My router doesn't support multiple IP's (at the moment), and I do have a static IP. The thing I need to set up is that the server sees from what address the IP is called, and creates an environment based upon that domain.

For example, denheijer.com is 80.60.63.143, but someoneelse.com is also hosted on that ip, without a subdir. This is called dynamic X (X = something).

So, does anybody knows how to configure this?

For web you just use the Host Header names for each domain, for the mail server it is similar, depending on what Mailserver they use. So on your router just forward all port 80 requests to your webserver and use iis to separate the sites by HH names.
