I’m redesigning my website and have added the forum.  This has cause a problem.  The problem is in that it now requires the users to login twice.  One for the registered users and again for the forum.  I would like to use the password system that’s used in the forum.  I found where it redirects the user to the forum page in login_user_test.asp but when I attempted to modify the code, it didn’t work.  Any suggestions?

I wanted to do that as well, and its sure that it can be done.

The problem is with the passwords, they are encrypted and i dont know the coding in ASP to check the given password with the encrypted one.

The simplest option is to look at the login_user.asp page and see how the login process is done. The code is commented so you should be able to see what is happening.

Is it possible to change the User handling to use Active Directory instead? i.e the user login box checks the account against the servers active directory instead. Would simplify a lot!

Any ideas?

You have already posted almost the same question already in another topic, check the reply there.
