This means that the server you are using is not running the latest MDAC drivers.

If you run the server yourself download them from:-

www.microsoft.com/data

If you don't run the server yourself, get onto the server admin and tell them it's about time they got their arse in gear and updated the server with the latest drivers and patches.

Thanks -

Actually I needed to register the Jet Engine dll to get rid of that error.

Now I get this one.

Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80040e17'

Database already exists.

/admin/compact_access_db.asp, line 124

The only file is the /admin/database dir is the db and a a wwforu m-tmp and the backup that the compact procedure creates

???

You need to delete the file ending in -tmp

Looks like for some reason then this fetaure doesn't work on the server you are on.

If you wish to compact and repair the database you will have to do it by hand and download and open the database in access and choose compact and repair database from the tools menu.

No ... you need access on the machine you download your access database to.

Alternatively, use this package:

http://www.stpworks.com/DesktopDefault.aspx?tabindex=1&t abid=3&articleid=3&linkid=2

It allows you to maintain an access database via a WWW browser. It truly is excellant ... and it has a menu option for compacting and backing up.
