Email stopped working with 7.7

I upgraded to version 7.7 last week and noticed that I was no longer receiving forum notifications. After double checking the configuration, I still had no luck. So I rolled the forum back to 7.6 and mail worked again. Anyone else had this particular problem?

I'm using cdosys on a windows 2003 server with the server's ip as the outgoing smtp server and hadn't had any problems before. Unfortunately, I have to stick with 7.6 at this time due the mail problem I experience in 7.7. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
