Topic: Web Wiz Portal Posted: 20 January 2004 at 10:09am |
Hi, I think webwiz guide should bring out a portal with all the asp stuff they've brought out integrated into it useing a commen database or 2. This is a good idea because I think pritty much everyone wants it and webwiz needs to bring one out to contend with the other portals that you must pay for which use web wiz's asp apps.
Please vote in poll to show them what we want.

I think you should make your own portal by integrating the apps yourself.
It would be a great learning experience.

I don't think so. The amount of work for borg is incredible. As a long term goal, perhaps. But Bruce puts this out for free. The amount of work he does right now is enough.
I would like to see it, but my vote is no. Maddog has a portal out. And there's an asp.net one as well.
BTW - For those that have not donated, give it a second thought. Borg has done a lot of work and if you appreciate it, you should show it.

I like your portal...the caldendar and everything else is really slick
Is it ready to go? I'd like to change my default website to integrate it into my forums, which are very busy.
Any way something like your portal can link into an existing web wiz forum?

I would welcome what would assuredly be a quality product. I'm not going to pressure Bruce considering how much he already does, but if he wants to, then I'm sure not going to complain!

This has been talked about quite a few times in the past.
I believe Bruce's reply was that he doesnt have the time to create something like that. His plane next is to make a .NET version of the forum.
I would rather see a .NET version of the forum over a portal myself. Its a little bit late in the game to start a new portal using ASP Classic...
Time for ASP.NET
