If you don't wish to purchase the link removal key and help cover some of the costs involved in developing, distributing, and support of this software, then you are required legally in the license agreement to leave the links in place.

Considering the many 1000's of hours over the years that has gone into this, it is not allot to ask to either leave the links in place or to help maintain the software by paying a small price to remove them.
