Hi !
I have Web Wiz 7.5 Translated to Hebrew by the site http://wwhf.net , that have premmesions from Bruce...

Some people who write messages in the forum always have something like "<= >" added to the start of their message, and they are not writing it.
one user is using Avant which is based on IE6 , and the 2nd user is using IE 6.

Anyone knows whats the problem ?
maybe something with the WWSGI Text editor... ?

Thanks,
Bar

Bruce told me in a previous thread that this is caused by NIS (Norton Internet Security) ad blocker. It adds a javascript to every page which wwf can't remove. Only way aroung it is to disable NIS ad blocking.

So why other forums dont have that ?
This is a huge problem, because a lot of people use NIS ad blocker...

Norton Internet Security (which is a load of crap) injects javascript in each and every page to try and prevent adds, this also gets injected into posts by NIS.

The javascript that gets injected gets changed with each version so the only thing I can do is keep changing the software to try and remove it.

Later versions have been changed again to work with the latest version of NIS, so your solution is to upgrade the filters in the functions folder to the latest version.

Thanks for your answer boRg ,
As I wrote before , I have an Hebrew Translation, so upgrading to 7.7 is quite a problem for me.
If I will only take the files from the "functions" folder that are in V 7.7 will it do any damage, and will I have to translate something or its all just commands in those files ? It will solve the <= > problem ?

Thanks A lot !!!

It is just commands in those files, but as 7.01 is almost a year old there have been so many changes since then that I'm not sure if replacing just those files will effect the running of the forum.
