Hi there, i've just had 7.7a installed on my website, but when I post or preview chinese words with RTE 1.2c funny symbols turned up and original texts cannot be recognized. Also, there's a blank appear every few words.

My server is located in UK. But forums made by chinese people work properly on posting and previewing. SO i think there may be something i could do with the RTE.

can anyone help plz

Web Wiz Forums is quite popular on Chineese web sites.

But the problem is that not only does your browser need to support Chineese character set, but the server also needs to have installed and support Chineese characters sets.

Otherwise when you submit to the server the server can not undestand the character set of the message posted, also the database with have problems storing the character set and will just display aload of messed up characters.

Your best bet it to look for a hosting company that has installed and supports the Chineese character set you are trying to use.

thanks boRg, but the thing is many forums made by chinese people are working properly on my server and the staff from the server said they will not install the language pack for me. I think it is the method that deliveries the message to the preview.asp and , oops, can't remember, just call it post.asp. Is it possible to change code to use "post" method and "request" from both asp files rather than pass by Javascript commands ( if i am not mistaken with the codes in RTE_message_form_inc)

I think your best bet then is to contact someone else who uses chinese on the same server as yourself and ask them how they did it.
