    Posted: 28 April 2004 at 12:31pm

E-mail address verification: Most forums do not complete registration until verified from requester's e-mail address. Is it possible to do the same with Web Wiz Forums?

To have multiple independent forums: I can have different forums under different categories. What if I want separate forums that have nothing to do with each other? Do I just duplicate the forum folder and set up each one individually? How does affect the license that I can buy to get rid of the link? Do I pay 2 or just 1 if I have 2 independent forums?

Thanks for the help,

wfz

You can enable email verification from the admin area.

You can place sepporate forums in different folders on your web site, but  they can effect the running of each other as the forum uses application level variables.

It would be better to place sepprate forums in sub domains, or you will have to edit the common.asp file and turn off the use of application variables, you will also need to disable active users feature from the admin area.

If you are using the MS SQL Server version and using the same SQL server database (you never mentioned what version) you will also need to edit the common.asp files to give each forum a different table prefix.

Licenses are sold on site URL bases.

boRg,

thanks for the reply. I tried "Email Activation of Membership" but it came up with a "The page cannot be displayed" error screen when testing.

I didn't set SMTP server. I just set CDONTS for email components to use.

On multiple forums, I will just duplicate the folder for different forums. BTW, do I still pay one license if we have 2 independent forums?

Thanks,

wfz

Turn off friendly http error messages in IE to get error message, but my guess is that the email component is not installed on the web server.

Duplicating to other folders may not work correctly, please see my previous post.

If they are on the same domain, you only need the one license.
