In this poll it displays that most of you use Visual Studio.NET, well what i'm asking is WHY? What do you all find good about it?

Also is there any other good IDE's out there, better than the ones stated?

I use vs.net for .net development, dreamweaver for asp development, and notepad for quick editing...

By the way, instead of making 2 threads about the same thing, why didn't you just allow posts in the poll thread?

IDE=Integrated Development Environment

VB.Net - which is Visual Studio but without the other languages and som add-\ons, is suitable for either asp web develpment or developing windows client-pc programs, or some combination of the two. It is pretty cheap - around $100 US.

Intellisense is great for coding fast (or if you're prone to typo's like I am).  If you start coding a tag, it gives you a drop-down list of possibile options. Select one, and you get a list of possible values. Once you're used to it (which doesn't take long), you just zip along.

You can examine the properties and methods of components you use, test just pieces of code line by line, etc.

Lead me not into temptation... I know the short cut, follow me.

I'm using VS.Net because it's made for scripting/programming with MS languages and general languages (like HTML and CSS) by the creators of ASP - Microsoft, which makes it quite good at that area.

You have to remember that when you buy Vs.NET you don't just get an ASP IDE you get a lot more...
