i was thinking if it was possible to add the ability for mods (or just admin even) to beable to read users pms?
since we can see there topic-subscriptions
i know that there PRIVATE messages but we need to beable to moderate them too
i was thinking of moddin the forum my self to do this, but i thought it'd be a nice feature for V8, but i dont want to add the the deadline so V8.1 would be fine
wot do others think?

Change the name then from Private Messages to Personal Messages. I would be highly annoyed to find out that something represented as private - wasn't.
In the US at least, I'd be careful about having the ability to monitor PM's. Starts opening you up to liability for the content of the PM's. If you miss a couple of PM's where your members are discussing kiddie-porn, you could find yourself shut down because you had the ability to prevent it, but didn't.
Why do you feel that you need to moderate them?

umm and the example you gave above  id rather not have that
anyway on my rap site, they tend to be more along the lines of "hay you wanna join our crew" or sumthing like that
anyway it was just an idea

someone here probably has a better idea, but there's a forum setting for spam that limits the time between each post, and the total number of posts in a given time period.
Perhaps that could be extended to cover PM's as well?

Times ago some users used PM to spam pub or simply sites to a users of a forum where I was part of the administration.
I think it could be usefult to prefent this kind of behave.
It's also true that if someone has some problems could notify it to the admin that can check PM directly in the Db.
Anyway a simple feature to show PMs in admin section may be useful to someone.

i built a battle score system and a "crew" system, since i couldnt use the "Group" thing, since sum crew members are moderators and it wouldnt work out
soon i plan to add a "pay system" so you pay to upload avatars and i'll put other features in the "paid account" but its just cose sum members upload LOTS of avatars
