I have a problem with MS SQL Server 2000, SP 3. Although this SP was supposed to "kill all bugs", inlcuding the ones in SP 2, I still have the same problem. My SQL Server is trying to communicate with an IP address 217.160.142.196 - which correspond to a site www.webonlineserverservice.de. My firewall intercept the call and I deny this communication, but I don't know what is going on. Does anybody here have a clue on this? Since, if I let it, it generate a huge ammount of upload traffic to this address, practicaly is using my entire bandwidth.

I assume you're talking about the slammer worm on port 1434.

Details, and links to security tools are here:

Unless is another version of Slammer! SP 3 is supposed to cure it!

I seem to recall running stuff to check for slammer and removing it before installing SP3a
