I am such a knucklehead.
I was trying to modify the email message that gets sent when a person puts a new post up so that it doesnt contain a link that says click here to unsubscribe from this message, and it started throwing errors. So, I undid my changes and it still threw the error. (I didnt write it down)
So I downloaded without looking at the forum version the latest forum and replaced the two files I had touched functions_send_mail.asp and post_message.asp
Now I am getting an entirely different error (most likely a version conflict) that says, Variable is undefined: 'strIncomingMailServer'

In the emails that were getting sent it says I am running version 7.7a Is there any way to get these two files for that version?
