HTTP/1.1 New Application Failed

We have twice in the past week gotten this error message when users try to accress our forum

HTTP/1.1 New Application Failed

The forum version is 7.8. The database is MS Access. The first time the error lasted several hours. I downloaded the database, ran compact and repair from within Access 2000 and uploaded it to the site. An hour or so later users were once again able to access the forum. The second time we got this error it only lasted a few minutes.

Anyone have any ideas?

This is a server error, not elated to the forum software.

From what I can find on this error it can be coursed by problems with the global.asa file, if you are running one on your site (web wiz forums doesn't use one).

Otherwise contact your web host and get them to look at possible server issues.

Thank you -boRg-. I have no idea what a global.asa file is or if we have one but I'll contact our host and see if they can help. Thanks again for the quick reply.
