You can make visible watermarks. However what is the best way to put some sort of invisible watermark in the image code?

Heheh -- Put a layer on with you logo and then turn the transparency to 100%???LOL

I've personally figured out that if I don't want to run the risk of an image or HTML code getting "lifted" then I simply put it on a webserver that is sitting in the corner with only a power cord, mouse cord, keyboard cord, and monitor cord plugged in. Otherwise, I just assume the honest people will stay honest and the dishonest people won't no matter what you do.Wink

Hmmm -- I just had an idea, at least for gif's or png's.

You could make them animated and add the frame with your logo as a transparent 1 sec frame or something like that. Most likely it wouldn't be noticed by the offender unless he/she used graphics software to manipulate the image....just a thought.

Newer versions of Photoshop and Paintshop Pro both have watermark in their menu,

For older versions, check the plugin sites. IIRC, only works with 16 miliion colors or better image formats.

Some people slice images. You can cut the sliced image out of a print-screen, but the quality usually suffers.
Other people put a transparent gif over the image to block the right-click "Save As". but the image is still in the browser cache.

Lead me not into temptation... I know the short cut, follow me.

You could use a type of free Digimark plugin for Photoshop, or simply use steganography, I had a little proggy that would add messages to the image code, totally un-noticed.
