    Posted: 05 April 2003 at 10:41am

Hi,

I've got a visitor to my forum who has suddenly become unable to post a new topic to the first level of topics, but can post replies and new topics ok from lower levels, sub-folders if you know what I mean.

When he tries he gets the message that he must register etc.

Any idea what might be the problem, I'm going to delete him and get him to resign to see if that solves it.

Anyone else had this problem and or know what might be causing it ?

I should say that otherwise the forum is working fine and nobody else has reported having any problems at all.

Cheers.

Is it just a problem with one member?  In the Forum Administrator there is "Forum Admin"... from there settings can be changed to set who can specifically post new topics, edit, delete posts, etc.

Hi,

Yeah, it's just one member having a problem as far as I know.

I've checked the settings and they are ok, ie members can read and write on all topics.

I've just deleted him and he's gonna sign up and try again, I'll let you know if it works.

Cheers.

Deleting and resigning didn't work, but by reducing the security of cookies level from medium to medium-low on xp pro he has resolved the problem.
