If I get some paied webspace say through SupaNames, would I be able to run my forum on that and upgrade to the more advanced software, taking the old database with me?

with most paid hosts, domains are put within there own application pool.

so yes you would be able to use the full software. but if paying i would recommend paying slightly more and get SQL hosting, as its come down in price these days.

also makes you look better, performance wise.. and WWF runs much better on SQL than access because of the nature of access.

Sorry to bring this back to the top.

SQL database, is that the same as a MySQL database?

MySQL comes with the package I am looking at (a Windows Package), is there a way I can convert my Access forum database into a MySQL keeping my posts and members?

mySQL is completely different to SQL Server.

Microsoft SQL Server 2000 works very well with ASP on a Windows web server, all being made by Microsoft.

mySQL is a free open source database system used more with PHP which runs better on Unix based servers.
