I am thinking of buying a new pc. I was wondering if you would chose to stay with 32bit or switch to 64?

I would go for a 64bit Athlon as they are more or less the same price as 32 bit versions at the same speed.
You'll also not need to upgrade so soon when all the 64bit software finally comes out.
Then again by then things will be on dual core processors, so you'll probally want to upgrade anyway.

Well 62 does not exit either :)
I am acutally looking to build an AMD 40000 right now. They are slick machines and depending on what you run they can run apps much faster. The beauty is, if you run .net Applications, they automatically run as 64-bit if you are running XP64 even if they were compiled in 32bit

This cell processor in the Ps3 looks awesome, coming out this
year. It's that secret one made with Toshiba, Sony and someone
else I think. It's got 9 cores, and can perform at rates of
16terra flops (in real world this figure will be a lot lower).
Has loads of cache as well, and they are planning to put 3 of them in
the PS3 as I understand, one being dedicated entirely to graphics!
Wonder if they will come to PC's.

From what I have read, AMD and Intel are giving up on the Megahertz
battle and are looking for other ways to speed up their processors,
including processors that use multiple cores.
Besides which we can't have a lame old games console being more powerful than a PC!!!!

I think it's to do with the fact that they have basically reacher the
physical limit to the closeness of the circutry before the currents
jump, the next step which is what is happening now is to look into the
material makeup of the processor, and mulitple cores.
