Hey can anyone help me with Paypals way of validating a payment on your site? (IPN)

I want a simple credit system, user buys $10 credit then 10 credits added to account.

Anyone know of a free script?

You can also download the free version of www.candypress.com - if I remember correctly the PayPal routine is included with the free version. That should get you pointed in the right direction.

Ok can anyone help me?

I got my IPN page that validates the order and logs it, the one Paypal posts.

Because Paypal posts this how do I get it to update someones account?  If someone (perosn x) buys something for £10 how does the IPN script recognise it was person x?

If I remember correctly, you can set some other variables and have those passed back to your script - such as a username, etc. Of course, it's been a while since I've looked at it.

I've looked but can't find how to send data in the 'custom' field.  Can anyone tell me?
