download the database from your host and back it up to cd or tape whatever you have. If you run sql server run a script to back the db up. the forum has no built in backup function.

problem is that you would have to have a zip component running on the server. My host for example has one so I can run a asp command to zip the file up to and directory that has write access on my server. But in order for this forum to be usable with lots of hosts Bruce would not put it in there. Plus, good hosts run a backup at least once a day so in case you loose something you can always ask them to restore it for you (eventually they ask a fee). Besides that, program yourself a little script to run a manual backup.
