( www.yildizteknik.net) I had a problem since I bought my server. My forum opens in 50 seconds and some parts of the forum doesn't open.Sometimes I see Service Unavailable problem. That happens nearly every day for an hour at least. My server techs said it's a coding problem. Is it possible to have a coding problem?

with the way the system/forum is built i would say im 99.999% sure it isn't a forum creation problem as

1. boRg writes to a very very high standard.
2. all connections etc are closed when able to.
3. we dont get many people saying about this.

the error ussually means to many cionnections , if it was a Code problem you would get a 500 error message and/or a actual error message not a service unavailable.

That is what they always say when they have no clue. We are running a heavily modified WWF-based site with an access database of 150MB.

Absolutely no 'coding problems'. Zero.

But when we were still on a cheap host, these 'coding problems' did occur at least once a day, with exactly the same code. I have wasted hours on argueing with them, no result.

Conclusion: Change your host. Do not argue with them, you will only waste your time. What you can do is, after switching to a better host, asking your old host why the exactly same code does not fail on the new server. Wink

150Mb for an Access database is very large and most shared hosting won't be able to cope with it.

Allot of shared hosts will kick your site if you have an Access database running a forum over 10Mb in size.

Forum systems put allot a strain on the database and unless you have under a 10Mb database with only a few users, Access simply can not cope.

Access is a desktop database and was never written intended by MS to be a backend web site database for a forum system.

You should really look into moving across to the MS SQL Server version that can cope with this level of use and database size.
