Has anyone else had any problems with hosting two forums off the same private server? I seem to have mix ups with titles and title images and weird things going on with private message notification emails being sent from members of one forum to members of the other. This shouldn't be happening... has anyone else experienced this?

if hosting 2 forums within the same domain,

you need to make sure that they are within seperate application pools. or turn off application veriables within the common.,asp files, within one of the forums, this will stop the errors

OK... in the main it seems to have done the trick except for the list of active users at the bottom. I have users one one forum showing up in the list on the other forum.

And also I have noticed that frequently when I post private messages or make posts in the forums I am getting this message:

CDO.Message.1 error '80040213'

The transport failed to connect to the server.

/hockey/functions/functions_send_mail.asp, line 136

Any clues?

If you're seeing a combined list of users, the forums are still sharing the same applicatiion pool.

Easiest way to circumvent the app pool problem is to put one of the forums in a sub domain.

Lead me not into temptation... I know the short cut, follow me.

the error means there is an email issue, make sure you are using a component that is on the server,

also check if you need authentification to send emails.

also check that theere is no issue with the mail server,

also try re uploading the send mail file and the pm pages.

does this happen only on the private message page or any notification features.

No it happens for any motification features. It should have nothing to do with my email server as it was working fine when I was using only the one forum for 4 months or so. Would it be better if I turned off the application variables for BOTH forums rather than just the one?

Change the prefix in the config file, then reinstall the forum.
