Hi Guys.

I was running Windows 2000 Advanced server, and the forums were working perfectly, I then decided to test the forums out on another box I have running windows XP professional.  I installed IIS, and I know I can view ASP's due to the fact that the default website works fine which are all ASP files.

When I browse to my websites test forum I get the following error

Technical Information (for support personnel)

  • Error Type:
    Server object, ASP 0177 (0x8007007F)
    8007007f
    /forum/common.asp, line 167

  • Browser Type:
Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; Avant Browser [avantbrowser.com])

  • Page:
    GET /forum/Default.asp

  • Time:
    Thursday, April 24, 2003, 1:36:41 AM

  • More information:
    Microsoft Support

If you like, please visit www.mydatavault.ca/forum/

Within IIS default.asp is setup as an allowed start document.

Ive reinstalled IIS, reset all features, tested other ASP files, I just cannot get it to see the forum on WINXP.

Please help. :)

Yes, in my IIS frontpage extentions were set to customer 500:100 error message.

I reset them to Default and it still did not work.

The Ghosts of Microsoft though... I simply rebooted my computer once again and now it is working...lol

Thanks.

Ice

I did install the MDAC 2.7.  Did not work, so I ghosted my machine back to my last known good, and recreated IIS and restarted this whole thing... it worked after that. so that did not fix the problem... although I do thank you for the help!
