I can't receive emails when a new post is added. The email is working because I receive emails from Private Messenger. I have the program set to receive a new email when someone post a new topic.

Check that you have subscribed to that topic or forum.

Also, note that you will not receive an email if it is yourself posting, as you should know what you have posted.

Oh, OK I didn't know that.
Is there a way to send emails to a group? If I ask a question to a specifc group and want only that group to receive the email? Is this possible.

This is a great! tool and am looking forward to purchasing it.

Not as such, but you could setup different forums for each group, then have members of those forums select to receive email notifications.

There is also a mass email tool in the admin area that can be used for sending emails to groups.

Thanks, not sure what you mean setting up different forums. The issue I have is this. We need a forum that when a person ask a computer question, the question can be sent to the computer help desk. If a question concerning maintainance is asked the message will be sent to people in the maintainance department.

Hope you can understand my delima.

thanks again
David

Why not setup a forum category then for computer questions and one for maintenance, then get the computer people to subscribe to emails on that forum and the maintenance people on the maintenance forum.

There isn't a way for the system to workout itself what group to send an email to, and I'd imagine coding such a system could be quite tricky.
