    Posted: 30 January 2006 at 3:50pm
I noticed that everytime I created an HTML form, an extra line of space was created at the bottom. This causes a gap between the form and the item after it. I usually use a table to position the form elements and I'm not sure whether using tables for this purpose is causing this thing to happen. If so, does anyone know how to remove this extra line? Or is there any alternative way of creating a form?

Thanks heaps.

use css to set the margin and padding to 0px.

Browsers all use different default margins and padding for HTML block elements like form, table, paragraph, div, li, etc. The only way to get a consistent result across all browsers is to use css to specify the margins and padding.

make the form inside a table, and put the opening form tag and the close of it above the <tr> tag.

This will make the form as if it doesn't exists.

<table><form><tr><td>blah blah</td></tr></form></table>
