Dear All,

I have recently been put in charge of our support forum, We have a number of files that have been uploaded to our server. i would like to know the correct way to remove these files so i can tidy the website up a little and then upload some new files.

I can remove the files manual but they still appear in the avaiable list.

Thanks in advance

hi and welcome.

when you say remove do you mean upload images and (zips) etc

or are you referring to avatars.

im not to sure what files you are wanting to delete.

also if they are deleted from the upload folder. i dont think they are shown anywhere else (to my knowlege)

Ok let me try and explain as I said i am new so could be my understanding

In th Admin section
under site page content
Select a page
I can see the upload file option and have used this to upload new files
the using the hyperlink function i can add the file to a page.

I want to be able to remove the old files, when i navigate via explorer i can manualy delete the files BUT the file still appears in the avaiable file list.

any help would be great

Ed

I think what he's saying is that he can upload a file to a thread and put a link to it in a post but when he deletes the file, the link is still in the post.

If that's the case, you'd have to delete the post. There's no physical or logical connection from the file back to the link.

Lead me not into temptation... I know the short cut, follow me.
