I wonder if anyone could shed some light on an issue I'm having...

I've just converted my forum from Snitz to WWF 7.9, then from WWF 7.9 to WWF 8.04.

Everything seems fine, except for one slight oddity...

The last post for each topic seems to be incorrect, and shows an older post instead of the true last post;

The topic below, for example, shows the 3rd post as the last, instead of the 8th post;

Trouble is, I can't see anything wrong with the DB data, so I'm a little confused;

16581 24 It would appear so, what we need is to wipe everyones post count so then we'll get the "posting wars" that we had when we were like 14 when everyone would post stuff, just to get the next coloured star!!! That'd be soooo awsome!!! MrOli - Make it happen! 05/01/2006 14:38:34 False ***.***.***.*** 0
16582 14 Chris it won't happen, because we're not like 14 anymore! nice thought though... The reason I come on is because I spend enough bloody time online, as I'm sure most people do and it takes like two seconds to check what is going down... if everyone else could be bothered, they'd post too. 05/01/2006 23:08:04 False ***.***.***.*** 0

We were discussing that the other night at The Nags... I've been meaning to upgrade the forum for a while now (because it looks sh*te), but it's going to take a while upgrading the original database. However, I was thinking of just starting from scratch, and leaving this as a reminder, then using the new forum as a new start to the year...and try and bring old HCCS people together again.

Wouldn't this get ordered if you just do a resync on the forum from the admin CP?

no i have tried that, i belive th eresync just does the Counts, not the actual topics.

ie counts posts, topics within the forums and updates the counted fields.

Posts are order by Message_Date, looking at the database it doesn't look like the posts have the correct dates

How do you mean, Borg?

Do you reckon there's any way of fixing them?

It looks like when you moved the posts into the database the Message_date field is wrong.

The Message_date field store the time and date the message is posted, if it is incorrect then your posts will be in the wrong order.

The only way to fix this would be to go back to the Sntiz database and try again.

Unfortunately trying again didn't solve the problem.

I understand you don't support conversions, but if you could point out what's incorrect in the database, and a possible solution to this, I would greatly appreciate it.

I really want to move all my forums to WWF, and this is the last to be converted.

Many thanks.
