Topic: Full window in upload an image Posted: 26 January 2012 at 2:25pm |
My users are not using the full capabilities to upload a picture because the bottom of the upload screen does not show without elongating the window. Can we make the window longer by default ? http://www.liwoodworkers.org/resources/liwc-web/bottom-upload.jpg - can not see bottom of Bottom screen dump shows after pulling the bottom down ...
By the way, I have not been able to upload an image in your forum. Why ? Thank you !

Hah ha! Software: Web Wiz Forums ver. 9.03
Firefox 9.0.1 - I have the same symptom with IE, although the window is a couple of pixels longer ... XT and Win7 Pro I guess you prevent anyone to upload pictures ? Thank you for your great responsive interest!

Web Wiz Forums 9.03 was released back in 2007 and is around 30 versions behind the current release.
It's going back about 5 years, but I am quite sure that the issue was fixed quite a few years ago. As the RTE has been updated quite allot of times to fix both layout issues like this and security vulnerabilities.
You should try updating to the latest 10.03 version, or if you wish to stick with version 9.x then you can also download 9.74 on the Web Wiz Forums download page.

OK - simple! Would the upgrade preserve the current skins? I do not have time to re-create everything from scratch? Or is it part of the admin control panel ? Do I also need to upgrade the Captcha module ? This is presently how it appears: http://www.liwoodworkers.org/liwcforum/default.asp - http://www.liwoodworkers.org/liwcforum/default.asp Wow I also noticed you fixed the Insert a link dialog! :)

You would only need to update your skin if you upgrade to version 10. If you keep version 9 then you do not need to update your skin and can keep your present custom header and footer files.
The CATACHA and Rich Text Editor are part of Web Wiz Forums and are upgraded when you upgrade the forum.
Upgrade instructions for the SQL Server version are on the page below:-
If you did decide to upgrade to version 10 then the upgrade wizard would upgrade the database and version 10 has added features like a Chat Room, Spam Filter, over 100 new admin options including custom header and footers, Mobile Optimised View, and many other features.

Wow! What a smooth upgrade it was! A couple of quiks, but it is great! The STAR rating featur takes a lot of spaces: I de-activated it The IP address shows: our users are too simplistic to understand that: Where can I de-asctivate it? The "Register" feature is SUSPENDED ... why ?
Thank you !

Hi Robert,
The IP address is only visible to your Moderator & Admin Group - Normal members won't see this displayed, so no need to worry about this.
You need to activate New Registrations from the Admin Section, to do this:
1) Log into the Admin Section (from the forums default page) 2) From the control panel section on the left hand side of the screen, scroll down until you see the Members Admin heading. 3) Click on Suspend Registration 4) Then change the option to "No" and click on submit.
Job done.
Take care, Shaun
