    Posted: 07 October 2003 at 1:26am

Since this weekend i am using 7.5 version of the forum.

I discovered a problem in Exporer 5 with quote on a topic.

The visitors in ie5 get a pop up, that they a put give a subject.

On the left botton of the browser a error message (in dutch):

Regel:88
Teken:3
Fout: 'document.getElementById(...).contentWindow'is geen object
Code:0
URL: http://www.mtb-sport.nl/forum/post_message_form.asp?mode=quo te&PID=8062&FID=2&TID=965&TPN=2

In 7.01 no problem, so what's going wrong???

It's not only qoute, but trying to post a new topic and use one of the buttons like  i  receive the same error.
There is also a WWG message that i have to correct the message. (-Enter a Message to post)

You can see it on http://www.mtb-sport.nl/forum/uploads/image/Fred/ww2.jpg en

I would say that you must have some corruption in a JavaScript file or link to a JavaScript file as other users using IE 5 have not run into this problem. Also the same code is used on this forum and no IE 5 users of this forum have reported such a problems.

Try reuploading all the files again.

Thanks for reply, but http://www.mtb-sport.nl/forum75/ is a "out off the box"  version, with i uploaded yesterday evening.
The regular version is http://www.mtb-sport.nl/forum (with dutch translation) and using MsAcces.

I will try it with a complete new one and empty database.

Unless you are getting an error also with the forum on this site with IE 5 my guess is a corrupted file.

Do you get the same error using the forum on this site???

Yestday evening i downloaden the zipfile and created a new forum wich is located on http://www.mtb-sport.nl/forum75/ .
Did not change anything, so it is 100% original.
Just created 1 forum and 1 topic. The problem continues also on that (small) forum.
Only with turning off WYSIWYG it works.
You can try it, you can post without registartion.

On this forum with explorer 5.0 no problem.

Is there perhaps something wrong with one of the files in the zipfile or any other suggestions??

The files in the zip file are fine and have been tested. Also they have been downloaded in their present versionn over 2000 times without any such problems comming to light.

It could just be that the WYSIWYG Editor is not compatible with your servers setup. I know if you use another symbol other than a period '.' for decimal numbers the WYSIWYG Editor will not run.

OK, you think it's perhaps something on the server of my provider.
In version 7 it was not a problem.

About the server of the provider i will ask them what they use for period symbol.

As workaround for (the few) visitors with explorer 5 i suggest them to turn off WYSIWYG, because going back to version 7 is not what i want.

Thanks for reply.
