Hi,

Sometimes (e.g. for half an hour) after "Post" new post or answer, it tries to load new page. But it cannot get one from server, waiting for infinity (? - at least over 5 minutes, when I click STOP button).

To make forum pages again, I had to close all IE (v6; but also from other browsers) windows and open IE again. Then, all pages works fine and quick.

It is unrelated to active users' count.

I have version 7.01, Access, 34035 posts and 1537 users.

Best regards,
Joanna

Sounds like more of a problem with your installation of IE.

The forum should load fast in all browsers.

Do you have more details or a URL to look at?

Are you intergarting your forum?
Are there images on the page like avatars that are on an external server that is slow at responding?
Is the server you are using slow at repsonding or overloaded?

Avatars almost doesn't exist... and, more important, all items are on same server.

Post is placed in database - so this part of ASP code is working ok. Something strange happens on rendering page.

Maybe it is something wrong with server, but I dont know what question should I ask (and provider, as always, tells "works for me" :) ).

Now everything is ok, but about hour ago this problem appear. Last time such behaviour was about month ago.

My forum: http://www.papugi.webserwer.pl/forum/forum/, test on TEST forum (third from bottom, use login "ogloszenie" (and same password) ).

Best regards,
 Joanna

If this is just happening occasionaly then this is a server problem.

On shared servers from time to time ASP applications especially those using Access database will slow down and run very slowly.

This is due to the servers memory getting full and the server needs to reset itself to release memory and free up server resources.

This is more common if people are using bad programmin practices and not releasing server objects once they have finshed using them.

Also you are using an old verion of the forum, if you update to the latest version it runs much faster and uses less server resources.

Now database is converted to Ms SQL, forum is upgraded (to v7.9), and problem still exist. Provider's admin said it is "memory leak", but didn't provide any specific data.

Problem happens to exist only in posting new post (and reply), not in edit post.

Best regards,
Joanna
