The problem is when u download it says it is mozilla firfox 0.8 and it is actually 0.9!

0.9 is just a release candidate and still has a few problems.  If you're new to FireFox, I recommend sticking with 0.8 for right now. 

The release notes still point to 0.8 in the 0.9 download page, so here's the updated release notes:
http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/releases/0.9.html

In the very near future, it's going to be a great deal better, especially as more extensions and themes become available.
