Has anyone here tried out the public MSN messenger 7 which was released a few days ago on Microsoft's site? It has an improved UI but keeps disconnecting. Version 6 was compatible with my router/NAT but maybe this is an updated protocol/uses different ports.

I'm using Windows Messenger and not MSN Messenger. WAY better IMHO.

MSN Messenger has annoying popups and BS that drive me to bloodlust. Angry I don't install spyware, adware, or other junkware, and I'm not going to start installing MS BSware either. Angry

I have no plans to find out how MS can further piss me off with more popup crap with MSN 7. Angry

I don't get one single popup in msn 7, the only add is at the bottom of the main window which I don't mind as I barely ever have it open.

The last version I used was Korean, and it was, in the immortal words of Dark Helmet, "dumb". Lots of popups and junk. Extremely frustrating when you are trying to make complex selections in something like Excel then it loses focus and you have to start over. I suppose Korean users have a higher BS threshold. I haven't installed even the English one since. Perhaps if my irrational anger and hatred subsides, I may install it again.

Post more praise for v7. It may calm me down a bit. Confused
