Topic: Using _blank with iframe Posted: 26 July 2008 at 11:31am |
|
I am using iframe to display an ad on my homepage. I don't want this ad's site to open up in the same window than my homepage, it should open in it's own new tab.
So where in my code do I put the target = "_blank"?
My code for the iframe is: <td width="120" height="152" align="center" valign="middle"><iframe src="http://rcm.amazon.com/e/cm?t=httpwwwpnskry-20&o=1&p=6&l=bn1&mode=books&browse=17&fc1=000000&lt1=&lc1=3366FF&bg1=FFFFFF&f=ifr" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" width="120" height="150" border="0" frameborder="0" style="border:none;" scrolling="No"></iframe></td>
Please could somebody help me?

you cant, its down to the page inside the iframe - which you do not have access to.
Though i am sure amazon let you choose this when you create the code for the advert

Thanks for replying, Scot. I am sure that was Amazon's intention, not very nice, hey?
Ok, so what to do? Choose another similar add that doesn't use iframe?

Maybe this page may help you with the problem I would tend not to have iframes on the forum even though I understand that you want to earn some money from your links

Thanks MrTWS, I tried that and it works very nicely, except that my image is now not dynamic anymore. I have selected The Shack as image and link and thus this is now the same all the time.
My previous link had the books changing all the time.

as i said, look at the Amazons Affiliates center.
When you create the advert banner code, they should give you an option to open in a new window or not. If they dont then there is nothing you can do, because you do not have access to Amazons page inside the frame.
