I wonder if any of you can help me.

I recently had a problem with the forum skins in so much the the admin area was 'cool-blue' and everywhere else appeared dark or white in the /ibiza forum, so, I thought rather than faff about trying to fix the issue, the quickest and easiest way for me being a noob, was to reload the forum via ftp so that it went back to how it was when 'fresh.'

But now it's worse, members from 327.biz appear in the active user display for /ibiza as do new posts and it happens the same way for 327.biz in that the /ibiza users appear in the active user display on the other forum, BUT when you click on the topic they are looking at, if it is in the OTHER forum- although it is displayed in the other, I get a 'not in the database' error.

What a buggers muddle, Can ANYONE help?

the skin issue, i assume, is because you was using my Multiskin Selection mod - which doesnt cover the admin area. The Admin Area uses what ever you have set on the Skin Config page inside the admin area.

The 2nd issue is because you need to edit the values in the Settings file in the include folder. because you are running 2 forums on one domain, you need to set different prefixes for the Application Array.

I am sure that when WWF set up the /ibiza site he told me I had a spare database on my account so it was set up on that one.

I must admit I am downhearted by the whole thing.

It wasnt your mods that messed it all up it was me faffing about with things I should have left alone.

The problem with the 'cross-user' issue only started happening when I re-uploaded the forum software the other day to /ibiza.

I think i may have copied the databaseconnectionasp from .biz to /ibiza in error, could that be the cause?

Okay matty

I had a similar issue trying to "smartly" share two forums on one host, and like you it screwed up bits and bobs
Very simple and quick answer just to get things back and running, is to delete the second forum you uploaded, because the two are conflicting

The second answer takes time but hang on a mo Thumbs%20Up

mattysdad,

Scotty32 has already provided you some solutions/explanations.

An explanation to this is:

And the solution is:

Let me explain a bit easier way. How to solve the second issue? Follow this:

1. Open setup_options_inc.asp from includes folder in a text editor

2. Around line 41 find this:
Const strCookiePrefix = "WWF9"

3. Around line 53 find this:
Const strAppPrefix = "WWF9"

4. For one forum change both values to "WWF9biz"

5. For the other forum change both values to "WWF9ibiza"

This will fix second your issue.

And if you are looking for a skin, i you may also try this.

mattysdad,

I forgot to tell you another issue. you also need to change another variable to get rid of cookie related issues for the second forum (www.room327.biz/ibiza). Do this:

1. Open setup_options_inc.asp from includes folder in a text editor

2. Around line 46-47 find this

strCookiePath = Left(Request.ServerVariables("HTTP_URL"), InstrRev(Request.ServerVariables("HTTP_URL"), "/"))
'strCookiePath = "/" 'Uncomment this line if your forum has issues with cookies

3. Change this as below:

'strCookiePath = Left(Request.ServerVariables("HTTP_URL"), InstrRev(Request.ServerVariables("HTTP_URL"), "/"))
'strCookiePath = "/" 'Uncomment this line if your forum has issues with cookies
'strCookiePath = "/ibiza/"

Do NOT forget the new ['] at the beginning of line 46
